We decided that along with a new house, new room, Joshua was also going to get a New Toddler Bed. The real reason for this decision was that the crib he was using, was recalled, and duct taped. (It was taped together in places other than the affected recall area, so even if we got the replacement recall parts it would still be broken.)
Morgan thought that if we took the crib apart (which we would have to, to get it out of their bedroom) there would be no way to put it back together.
We have had some offers to borrow cribs, and he is quite young to change. I think Eli was a year older before we switched him. But we are going to try this for now.
So we've borrowed a toddler bed and Joshua's first night was the night we moved in, which was crazy and late to begin with. Saturday I tried to give him a nap in his bed. It didn't work out so well.
Joshua's bed.
Joshua.
I was able to get him to take a nap in my bed with me, which was fine with me...I just needed him to nap!
Sunday was a no nap day, I didn't want to deal with it, and real nap time would be during church so I just didn't bother.
Monday I had him take a nap in his pack-n-play which worked great. Monday night he kept trying to get into Eli's bed and just generally having a hard time. So I put him back in his pack-n-play. He was not happy and cried and screamed. I went in there after a little while to sing to him again, and he points to his bed and says bed. So I put him in his bed and he sleeps wonderfully.
Tuesday he takes a nap in his bed. Great. Tuesday night, another hard night. Shannon was putting the boys in their beds because Morgan and I were cleaning Randolph house. Josh didn't want to sleep in his bed or pack-n-play so Shannon finally just put him in the pack-n-play.
When we got home we moved him to his bed to make him more comfortable, and get more used to it.
Now I've put away the pack-n-play and we'll try just the bed. Hopefully it will all work out.

Moving
While we were moving Josh loved playing outside with toys.
Eli was so tired that he fell asleep in the car and stayed asleep for a good while.
Boxes in the office.
The dining room
Kitchen
Piano bay
The family left these old Fisher Price toys for us that kept the boys busy while we unload.
Enjoying their new toys.
This is a picture of the bottom of the basement shower. The water was just draining out into the basement, going where ever it pleased. Morgan's brothers rigged up this drain with one of the drain spouts I had replaced outside. Now the water goes straight from the shower to the floor drain! Horrah, I get to take a shower now!

We had a lot of good help loading up our moving truck Friday night. It went so quickly that Morgan decided we should just unload it and move in that night. I was not prepared for that at all. We had to wake Josh up when we were ready to leave and move all of our bedding. It was a bit hectic for me but it all worked out. We did feed all of our helpers doughnuts and milk (because we thought we were doing it Saturday morning), but it worked out.
And Saturday morning when we were supposed to start moving it was raining pretty hard, so I'm glad we did it Friday. Plus then we had Saturday to get a little more organized.

My Three Kids
Today Eli and Josh and I were shopping at Walmart. We turned up an aisle and there was a woman with 6-7 young kids with her.
Eli just exclaims, Wow, that's a lot of kids.
I smile at her, she smiles at me, we move on. Then I ask Eli if we have a lot of kids in our family.
Eli: No, we have One, Two, Three.
Me: Who are the three kids?
Eli: Josh, Eli and Daddy.

Working Hard
We had to take out some of the wood in the basement that was rotting. So Morgan has been working hard this week getting that taken care of. We also had to extend the rain gutters. (Hopefully we can get some Escrow money back now that we've done this.)
We've also done some cleaning and painting of the upstairs bedrooms. Things are moving along nicely!

Greenhaven
It feels like our live has been "Sale Pending" for quite some time. Especially since when we had to do work on the house our waiting for inspections, etc. We were always in a big time crunch, spending 6 hours every evening. We were supposed to close on our house at 9am last Friday. Because of a long story I'm not going to bore you with, the closing kept moving, first 9am, then 11:00am, 12:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm. At 5:05pm we knew it still wasn't going to happen so we rescheduled for 11am today.
Even as Morgan and I walked into the meeting our Realtor told us that our final approval had only happened minutes before. Craziness. But now they will be taking down this sign, because the house is sold. We are now the proud owners of a mortgage.
Now that everything is official I can post more pictures. We have decided to name our home Greenhaven. These pictures are from the listing, so they have all of the old furniture in them. We will post more pictures once we are moved in completely.

We have a lot of work to do, especially on the yard,
we will pull out all of those bushes in the front.

Movie Reviews
2012
I got this from the Library (no surprise there, eh?) and on the jacket it said it was "the best disaster movie ever'. I should have known from that, that this movie would be mediocre at best. But it had some of the same directors as The Day After Tomorrow, which I really like, so I was hoping for something more.
My problem with this movie, is that it was very funny, in a silly way. The characters took off in a plane with the ground falling out from under them 10-20 times, I lost count. The thing that really turned me off to the movie was, that as a disaster flick, California is falling off into the sea. Now this is something that I've heard jokes about before and not had a problem with. But here the people are trying to save themselves and you actually see bodies falling from tipped over buildings and things. So it made it real to me. Millions of people are dying here, and I'm laughing at the gags they are pulling.
It just left a bad taste in my mouth.
Where the Wild Things Are
Morgan liked this movie. It is one that he would watch again. Shannon didn't like the movie too much. Too depressing, not happy enough for our returned missionary.
As for me. This was a well made movie. Visually, thematically, they really did a good job making this Realistic. Unfortunately realistic is depressing and kind of sad. That said, it is a fine movie for adults to watch, but I'm not going to be showing it to Eli for quite some time. Also, it is not a movie that I am going to rush out to buy. If Morgan wants it I'll get it for him, but that's about it.
I knew I forgot to mention a movie. We also saw,
THE BLIND SIDE
This was a really good movie. It wasn't your typical football movie/sports movie. It wasn't really about football, but rather the Mom was the main character. I thought everything was really believable. Morgan was saying how he wondered that it got such great reviews and how Sandra Bullock got the Oscar for the part since it wasn't Dramatic. I said, maybe that's why she got the Oscar. Because she played this part that could be over-acted, and she Did Not play it overly dramatic.
Another funny thing, in the movie the NCAA comes and says that it would be wrong for a rich family to find poor kids that are good at football, take them in, and get them into their alma mater. I thought, what is wrong with that. If you have people with money who are allowing kids who would not have the chance otherwise to get into college. Obviously the kids are good enough at football, and they have to pass the minimum grade requirements. So you are giving kids a chance that would otherwise not have it. If they are not good at football no amount of money is going to get them into the school. So why is wrong with it? Maybe someone else can tell me.

Missing
We have been missing this week. Why? Because we have been working at the house till nearly midnight, or later, every night.
The bedroom windows upstairs and chipped paint on them, a no-no for the appraisal. We had seen the 'fixes' that the estate did on the house and knew that if we asked them to do it we would get a very shoddy job. So we decided to do the job ourselves and do it right.
I had no idea what 'doing it right' meant. First we taped all around the windows (a very time consuming job). We had to put paint stripper on the windows and let it dry and scrape it off.. twice. It was really difficult, especially around the lattice of the windows. We think we took of 6 layers of paint.
It still wasn't really good enough, so Morgan got his grinder and sanded everything down.
The wood underneath was beautiful. We were so upset that they had painted over them in the first place. Unfortunately we don't have the time or money to stain them so we decided to paint them again.
We put a coat of primer and two coats of paint on. We have had to clean the wood floors because the stripper/paint chips combination got all over the place even though we had tarps down. We washed the walls and then had to paint the walls where some of the paint had peeled off from our tape.
We had seen some paint in the house that matched the bedrooms. Or so we thought. It turns out it matches the paint in the boys bedroom. We started there, saw the match and quickly painted around all of the windows. It turns out that our bedroom and Shannons bedroom is painted a slightly lighter coat of tan/cream. The boys room look great, our look quite comical.
More cleaning of the floors, putting the windows back together. And cleaning the carpet on the landing outside of the bedroom is going on tonight. (Everything has to be down for a re-inspection tomorrow morning.)
So that has been our week. I've probably spent 40 hours there, poor Morgan has spent even more. He was there from 8in the morning until 12:30am yesterday, with a couple of breaks for meals.
We really appreciate Shannon who has spent so many evenings watching the boys and the many others who have babysat for us.
We still have a lot to do after we close on Friday and the house is officially ours, so I'll probably be calling for more help later! :)

Let's Go Fly A Kite
The Easter Bunny brought some kites for the boys. Eli and Morgan went out in between conference sessions today to try it out. Earlier in the week Eli and I had tried to fly a "trick kite" that we own, it didn't work so well.
But when Eli and Morgan got the kite going wonderfully Eli kept saying, "I'm much better at flying a kite then Mom!"
And yes, it's true.
