Family Photos

While we were in Utah we had some family pictures taken. Here are our favorites of just 'our' family.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was an interesting day. We found out in the morning that my Grandpa Palmer (Dad's dad) had died. He was 96 years old and a wonderful man. A true Cowboy, riding horses to help bring cows off the mountain up until he is 88 years old. My dad went to Aurora to help with the arrangements and the rest of us tried to continue as normal. He had a good lunch, played games, ate dessert and had a pinata for the kids.

Parties!

While in Utah we had a birthday party for Morgan. We ate waffles with butter syrup, maple syrup, strawberry stuff and whipped cream. Cheyenne also made a triple chocolate cake that was DELICIOUS!
Later E and J got to go to a "Milk and Cookies" party for all the not-in-school kids. They had a great time and couldn't believe they could eat all the sweets they wanted.

On Our Way to Utah

Josh trying to watch a movie.

Eli trying to watch a movie.

Melissa driving. (I didn't do this very often, Morgan was the big driver for our trip.- as usual)

Having fun.

Rest stop.

Playing aroung

Yummy ice cream!

Two videos - one of the boys playing at a rest stop, and the other of the boys watching home movies of themselves.

Squirt Guns

Eli has been asking for a water gun for ages. Shannon and Kyle got one for he and Joshua when they were playing with them one day and the boys loved them! The would fill them with water then squirt all the leaves on the grass. They even took them into the bath a couple of times to play with. Great little toys!

HALLOWEEN (I'm not late!)

Eli dressed as Lightening McQueen this year and Josh was a Zebra. (We even looked online to find out what a zebra says, it is something like a bark, strangely enough.)

The End of a Dream

It is official. Earrings are not for me. My ear lobes are apparently too big for earrings. I had been trying to make it work for months and things were just not getting better. I finally needed Morgans help with the earrings one day and he told me the back of my ear was a big hole. So I grabbed a mirror and figured out how to look at my ear and discovered it was just not worth it.
So good-bye earrings.

Boom Chicca Rocca

During Family Home Evening Josh was running around with a lampshade on his head singing Boom Chicca Rocca. Once we got the camera out it changed a bit, but you'll get the picture.

An Email from Eli

Dear Mom,

I want you to not feel sick so you can feel good. For the baby in your tummy. After the baby gets out of your tummy you will be able to feel and our whole family will have to take care of it. And I want you to have a great day.

Eli and Morgan

(Aren't they sweet!)

I have the Best Husband

Today I am sick. This is the worst it has been all pregnancy. I woke up at 6am feeling sick, threw up before breakfast, and have proceeded to throw up all day long.

Morgan came home at 7:30 (after seminary) to pick up Shannon and saw me after puke number 2 and called into work and told them he wouldn't be in until noon. He sent me back to bed and I have alternated between sleeping, trying to eat, and throwing up. After attack #3 he called into work and canceled his whole day.

It has been so nice to not have to deal with the boys this crazy day. I told Morgan that if he had gone to work he would have come home to the house a mess, a movie on all day, and me trying to make it through. So I am just so thankful to have him here.

The Truth

So if you read my blog regularly you would have noticed that I did not post anything from September 13th or so until last week when I started slowly posting again.

The truth of the matter is that I was just too darn sick to want to post anything, and I felt that any posts I made would be lies because I wouldn't be telling you how completely exhausted, nauseous and utterly wasted I felt.

But today I went to the doctor and they confirmed that I have a growth in my uterus. It is fast growing but they are unable to safely facilitate its removal until it has reached it maximum capacity, somewhere around May 14th. It even has a heart beat.

Yes, Sacajawea (our code name) is officially announced and we are very excited. No, we don't know if it is a boy or a girl yet, but we will find that out sometime in January.

Hoo-rah!

Monday, October 25, 2010

Uncle Dan came to visit us this weekend and Eli and Josh were over the moon! They could not get enough of him.
Morgan has had a good time with Gordon too. Saturday they went to an Elder's Quorum activity together, got to shoot a lot of different guns and then have a bonfire with hotdogs. Morgan took today (Monday) of work and they are bike riding together all morning and then will disc golf all afternoon. Horray for Family!

Carving a Pumpkin

Eli got to go to a pumpkin patch for a pre-school field trip and brought home a little pumpkin. He was a little confused and thought that when we opened the pumpkin there would be toys inside of it. I'm not exactly sure what they taught him that day.
Anyway, we convinced him that there would be seeds inside and that we could cook them. So Friday night after dinner Morgan and the boys cleaned and carved the pumpkin. Eli wasn't even disappointed that there were no toys, he was just excited to have his own jack-o-lantern.

Golfing

Joshua is really into golfing. And ANYTHING will work for the ball or the club.

J is also really into his tricycle. If he ever speaks to you most likely he will say, "I ride my trike without training wheels." He has to say that at least 30 times a day. He'll climb into my bed first thing in the morning and tell me about riding his trike. On the phone with Grandma, he lets her know he rides his trike without training wheels. Crazy kid. :0)

California Shrimp Curry

I was in the mood to experiment a little and I found a recipe for California Shrimp Curry. It is basically avacado, shrimp, tomatoes and a flour/curry sauce. Next time I will add more curry flavor to it to spice it up a bit. It was good, but different. (I don't eat warm avacado all that often.)

Curious George Turns 50!

We went to the Waterloo library for a special story time about Curious George. Both of the boys loved it. They got to make a George mask and have cupcakes with lemonade!
