Morgan and I watched the movie City of Ember last night (another wonder Library movie). We enjoyed the movie. You may think I'm dumb, but after the movie as we were getting ready for bed Morgan was like, "That was a good name for the city. Ember really fits." I'm sitting there thinking, Ember??? what does he mean, then he continues and talks about how it is like the ember of a fire, and I realized I completely missed that. Apparently I don't camp enough anymore.
Back to the movie. We thought the casting was great, especially all of the supporting characters, I didn't have strong feelings one way or another about the leading man, but I loved the main actress. I had no idea that moles were such disgusting creatures. Granted this one was a mutant gianormous mole, but still.
SPOILER:::: (sort of)
I wasn't expecting most of the movie to take place in the city. I thought there would be more searching to find the way out, but once they knew what they wanted to do it was a pretty simple operation. Also, I was completely satisfied with the literary ending of tying up the loose ends. Throw a rock down the hold, and of course the boys Dad is the one to find it. Leading you to believe that he will be able to convince everyone else that they can make it out.

New Pillow
So, long time no blogging. Sorry.
We decided that the time had finally come for Eli to get a pillow. Rather than go and spend money on one I went downstairs and pulled one out of our storage area. Eli is pretty excited about it. Although every time I went into his bedroom last night he was lying more next to his pillow rather than on it. At least he isn't using his animals as pillows anymore.

Sunny Day Walk
It was wonderful to be able to get out side and go for a family walk. Naturally we walked over to the hospital so we could check out the helicopter. Always an exciting trip! Josh did really well, he didn't like the sun too much, but didn't complain...eventually he fell asleep. Eli loved walking and throwing his frisbee. He did great until we were near home and he fell down, then he wanted to be held. We distracted him by pointing out flags and other 'interesting' objects around the neighborhood and he was able to walk the rest of the way too. Horray for Spring!

There goes the disc!
This is a picture of Eli after the release - check out that form!
And Josh, happily watching Eli throw discs, and enjoying his moment in the shade.

Visiting Cousins
We had a great time today with Pete, Emily and Henry visiting. It was fun to take pictures of Henry, Josh and Eli. Of course Eli liked running around outside more than lying down for pictures. Henry was pretty serious for the photo shoot, I think he was trying to figure out what was going on.

Who knew blogging took so much time.
So, if you had a video screen watching my blog over the past 24 hours you would have seen it change shape, size, and color probably 20 different times. It all started when I decided I didn't really feel like having a St. Patricks Day background on my blog anymore. I couldn't find a background I liked, or one that fit the way that it said it was supposed to. It seemed all the backgrounds I liked were 3 column so I tried to change that on my blog but the 3 column background still didn't work. Now I've just picked a background that I liked well enough and I'm leaving it at that. It is good enough for me now and I've already spent way to much time trying to figure this out. After all, the things that I am posting are what is important, not how attractive, (or unattractive) the background. At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Nauvoo
Saturday we went to Nauvoo. After Morgan and I did sealings Morgan stayed to help the youth with baptisms. So I decided to take Eli and Josh around historic Nauvoo to see some of the sites. We walked through the Garden of Women, checked out the visitors center and the bakery and then spent some time at the Family Living Center.
This was my first time (that I remember) going to the Family Living Center, and it was a lot of fun. They perimeter of the building is full with different demonstrations. We didn't have a whole lot of time so I didn't look at everything. We checked out the kitchen area, the candles, the weaver and the rope maker. We got to try some home-made bread. Take home some small candles, and Eli helped make a rope.
Watching the missionary turn the wheel to make a rope. And watching him tie off the end.
