Pacifier?

The Helicopter

I had to take Eli and Josh to our last Relief Society meeting because Morgan was going to be gone. Eli got to make a paper helicopter. He absolutely loved it! Here he is showing it off.

Eli and the helicopter.

Going around and around.
More spinning.
Crash landing!

Prayer

**Disclaimer** It has been a couple days, so I may not have Eli's words exactly, but this is pretty close to what happened.

Eli has always been very interested in giving prayers. When he first started praying on his own he would pray for anyone and everyone in his prayers. Always remembering "Shannon and Kyle to
be good missionaries." We have had a lot of variety with hand motions during the amens , eyes open and closed and who knows what else.

Lately his prayers are one topic.
"Heavenly Father, thank you for the food food please bless it, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Heavenly Father, thank you for the day, please bless bedtime, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

We always let Eli say a family prayer right before bedtime. For a couple of nights now, this is what we've heard:
Eli: "Heavenly Father, thank you for the food......thank you for bedtime, please bless it, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." I said the wrong one! I said the food.

We've always laughed about this, who hasn't said the "wrong prayer" a time or two. So Tuesday night (Morgan was gone Home Teaching) I decided to try and get Eli to think about what he will pray about before hand.
Me: Eli, what should we pray about today? Should we thank Heavenly Father that we could go shopping, that we feel better, and that we can sleep well?
Eli: Yeah.
Me: Okay, can you prayer for those things?
Eli: Heavenly Father, thank you we go shopping, we feel better, please bless us sleep well, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. "

It went so well that Wednesday morning when Eli was going to pray before Morgan went to work that I thought I would try to get him to say a longer prayer again.

Me: Eli what should we pray for this morning?
Eli: Umm, we should pray for (he then gave us a list of about 10 things that he was going to prayer for but I don't remember any of them.)
Me: Okay, go ahead and pray for those things.
Eli" Heavenly Father, thank you for day, please bless all those things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

If only we could always pray for "All Those Things." Crazy kid!

Backpack

Our friends the Rodebush's gave us an infact backpack for Josh. We used it when we were cleaning up the basement and I LOVE IT! It is so nice to be able to have Josh mobile and out of the way. Plus we can put it on the floor/ground and let him sit there.

Crawling

Josh is crawling! He's not on all fours, but he can and will regularly go where ever he wants. He does still roll around on the floor playing with toys.
Also this morning Morgan calls to me and asks, "How long has Josh been able to get into sitting position?" The answer: That was the first time! Its fun to see them growing and doing new things. Plus I was glad that Morgan was here to see a 'first' of Josh's.

I have tried several times to get picture of Josh crawling, but it never seems to work. What usually happens is this.
Josh notices me sees that I am calling to him. He is upset and wonders why I just don't come and get him.

I still don't come so instead of crawling to me, he gives up and lets the world know that I have broken his heart.
However, the other day I decided to try it after he had just woken from a good nap and had already eaten. So far, so good...he's just smiling at me.
He decides to start coming!
Almost there...
He made it!

Sick

Poor little Eli is sick. It started Wednesday morning with a tired boy and a little fever by the afternoon and he has had a fever off and on for the past two days. Hopefully he gets better soon so that we can make it to church. I know Eli really wants to bear his testimony again, but fever generally means contagious so we are sticking around at home.
We did go to the doctor and he said Eli had some sort of virus that was giving him the fever as well as a sore throat, but that there weren't any antibiotics that he could give him. So we are sticking with Tylenol and letting him laze around.
