In June Morgan and I went to Europe. We had been hoping and planning this trip for many years, and it all finally came together. We were also lucky to travel with our friends Scott and Lindsay.
We flew in to Amsterdam, Netherlands and straightaway took a train to Munich, Germany. The next morning we went to Dachau Concentration Camp and then drove to Musau Austria. While we were in Austria we saw the Hohenschawngau and Neuschwanstein Catles (in Germany.)
I am glad that we visited the Concentration Camp. I think it is something that everyone should do once. That said, I have no desire to see another one for a LONG LONG time. It was a sorrowful, somber place.
While driving back to our room one evening in Austria, I saw a waterfall on the mountain. Scott was able to find a road that led to it. We had a fun little hike through the woods, to the waterfall and beyond. We saw some deer and little lizard things. (It wasn't a lizard, but I don't remember the name.)
You can see Neuschwanstein from Hohenshwangau.
We took a tour of both castles. They don't allow pictures to be taken inside, so you have to deal with the exterior shots.
After seeing Neuschwanstein we hiked above it to "Mary's Bridge." Then we continued even higher up the mountain to get a great shot from above.
