So, after much thought, and looking at our non-existent tax return we've decided to put off looking for a house for a couple of months. I'm totally bummed. But it is what it is.
Sorry to hear that 1) you have a non-existent tax return and 2) you are putting off the house. Hopefully something really great comes along and you'll be happy you waited.
I don't think it's so bad. We haven't seen a house that we "just have to have" and we haven't outgrown our current rental yet, so no love lost. I feel a lot of peace about it.
